🇩🇪 APS Certificate India — Delay Guide 2026
Why APS Certificate Gets Delayed in India — Causes, Troubleshooter and Prevention Guide 2026
Written by Sameer Jadhav, Content Strategist and International Education Research Specialist | Reviewed by Sharmila Shaligram, Head – Europe Admissions and Counseling, IMFS | Updated: July 2026
Most APS delays in India are caused by the same three things: missing semester transcripts, institutional verification emails ignored or landing in spam, and name mismatches between passport and degree certificates. Based on IMFS 2025-26 Germany applicant data, average APS processing is 8–9 weeks — but with the right preparation, it can be done in 6. This guide tells you exactly what to fix before you submit and exactly what to do if your APS has stalled.
📋 Key Takeaways — Read This First
- IMFS data (2025-26): Average APS processing = 8–9 weeks. Fastest = 6 weeks. Longest = 13 weeks.
- #1 delay cause: Missing semester transcript pages — even one missing semester freezes processing completely
- #2 delay cause: Institution verification email not responded to — wrong email domain, faculty on leave, or email in spam
- #3 delay cause: Name mismatch between passport and degree certificates — even minor spelling differences
- APS does NOT check IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, SOP, LOR, CGPA, work experience, or German language — only academic authenticity
- DigiLocker speeds up CBSE Class 10 and 12 document preparation — but APS will still verify with your institution
- Never open a new email thread with APS — always reply in the original email chain
- APS only accepts .edu.in or .ac.in emails for institutional verification — Gmail addresses are rejected
- Portal status "Verification Pending" means your institution has not replied — contact your registrar or HOD immediately
- Pre-submission checklist: 15 items — completing all of them is what separates 6-week from 13-week processing
Short Answer: Why Does APS Get Delayed?
APS delays are almost always caused by one of three things: incomplete documents (especially missing semester transcripts), institutional verification failure (wrong email, no response, or spam filtering), or name mismatches between your passport and academic certificates. All three are preventable. This guide shows you how to prevent them before submission — and how to fix them if APS has already stalled.
What APS Does NOT Evaluate — Clear This Up First
This is the most common misconception among India Germany applicants on Reddit and Facebook groups. Students delay their APS application thinking they need IELTS or GRE first. They don't.
APS Checks Only Academic Authenticity — Nothing Else
- IELTS / TOEFL / PTE / GRE / GMAT scores
- Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- Letters of Recommendation (LOR)
- CGPA, grades, or academic quality of any kind
- Work experience or internship certificates
- German language certificate (A1–B2)
- Scholarship or financial documents
- dMAT score — dMAT certificate is submitted with APS but evaluated by German universities, not by APS
- Research publications or extracurriculars
- Visa eligibility or blocked account status
💡 What APS does check: That your degree, mark sheets, and institution are genuine. It verifies authenticity — not quality. A student with a 6.5 CGPA and a student with a 9.5 CGPA go through exactly the same APS process. Source: aps-india.de/faq-ss
APS Portal Status Guide — What Each Status Actually Means
The APS India portal uses six status labels. Students repeatedly ask "what does my status mean?" on Reddit — no authoritative guide explains this. Here is exactly what each means and what to do.
| Portal Status | What It Actually Means | Your Action |
|---|---|---|
| Application Submitted | APS has received your online form and payment. Physical documents not yet received. | Wait for courier delivery confirmation. Check tracking number. |
| Documents Received | Your physical documents have arrived at APS Delhi and been logged. Processing begins from here. | No action needed. Start your 8–9 week clock from this date. |
| Verification in Progress | APS has contacted your institution(s) for document verification. Waiting for institutional response. | Confirm your institution has received and replied to APS. Ask them to check spam. |
| Clarification Required | APS needs something from you — missing document, name mismatch, unclear scan, or additional information. | Check your email IMMEDIATELY. Reply within 48 hours in the SAME email thread. Never open a new email. |
| Verification Pending | APS has sent a verification email to your institution but the institution has NOT responded. | Contact your Registrar, HOD, or Controller of Examinations urgently. Give them APS email ([email protected]) and ask to check spam. |
| Certificate Issued | Your APS certificate has been issued as a digitally signed PDF and sent to your registered email. | Check your email including spam folder. Download and save immediately. Valid 3 years. |
⚠️ Critical rule: If APS sends you an email asking for clarification or additional documents — always reply in the original email thread. Students who open a new email to [email protected] effectively restart their application queue. Your original thread carries your case history; a new thread loses that context and causes significant delays.
APS Pre-Submission Checklist — 15 Items Before You Click Submit
This checklist covers everything that causes delays when missing. Complete all 15 before couriering to APS Delhi. Students who complete this checklist in full achieve 6–8 week processing. Students who don't average 11–13 weeks.
- All semester mark sheets included — every semester from first to final (or latest available if final not yet issued)
- Passport details match academic records exactly — full name spelling, no initials vs expanded name mismatch
- Institutional email confirmed as .edu.in or .ac.in — NOT Gmail, Yahoo, or personal email
- Aadhaar linked to correct mobile number (required for DigiLocker access)
- DigiLocker account active and Class 10 / 12 certificates fetched (where available)
- 10th mark sheet AND certificate — both sides, A4 colour photocopy
- 12th mark sheet AND certificate — both sides, A4 colour photocopy
- Bachelor's degree or provisional certificate (provisional accepted if less than 1 year old)
- APS application form printed, signed by applicant, with passport photo affixed
- APS fee payment receipt saved — ₹18,000 via CCAvenue, UPI, or NEFT
- Registrar/HOD/Controller of Examinations informed — with APS email ([email protected]) provided
- Faculty/Registrar asked to monitor spam folder for APS verification email
- Official institutional phone number confirmed for APS contact
- Courier tracking number saved after dispatch to APS Delhi
- Regional language documents: notarised English translation included where applicable
📌 On document completeness: APS requires ALL semester mark sheets — not just the consolidated mark sheet. If your 7th semester results are out but 8th semester is pending, include all 7 semesters. If your final degree has not been issued yet, submit the provisional certificate. One missing semester is enough to freeze your entire application. Source: aps-india.de
Before You Courier — Final Pre-Flight Check
Before you hand the envelope to the courier, run through this final 9-point check. Students who complete this list have the highest rate of smooth APS certificate processing in our cohort data. This is not the detailed checklist — this is the last call before dispatch.
DigiLocker Workflow — How to Use It for APS
DigiLocker (digilocker.gov.in) is India's official digital document locker. CBSE Class 10 and 12 certificates are available directly — pulling them through DigiLocker means APS can verify them instantly without waiting for institutional response. This is one of the most reliable ways to speed up your APS for school-level documents.
- Create DigiLocker account
Go to digilocker.gov.in and register with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Verify with OTP. Your DigiLocker account is now active.
- Link your Aadhaar
In DigiLocker settings, link your Aadhaar number. This enables access to government-issued academic documents stored against your Aadhaar.
- Fetch CBSE Class 10 and 12 certificates
Go to "Issued Documents" → Search "CBSE" → select your board, year, and roll number. Your mark sheet and certificate appear as official PDFs with digital signatures.
- Check university availability
Search for your college or university in DigiLocker. Many central universities and some state universities are listed. If your institution is not on DigiLocker, you still need originals from the institution.
- Download and verify PDFs
Open each document and confirm: full name matches passport, roll number is correct, all pages load, no watermarks or distortions. Print A4 colour copies for APS submission.
💡 Important limitation: DigiLocker speeds up document preparation and helps APS verify CBSE documents digitally — but APS will still contact your institution for degree-level verification. DigiLocker does not replace institutional verification; it supplements it. Most students still need to alert their university/college registrar regardless of DigiLocker use.
Name Consistency and Scan Quality — Two Silent Delay Causes
Name Mismatch — The Third Biggest Delay Cause
APS cross-checks the name on your passport against the name on every academic document submitted. Even minor discrepancies trigger a clarification request — adding 2–4 weeks to processing.
| Common Name Mismatch Scenario | Example | Remedy |
|---|---|---|
| Different spelling of same name | Mohammed (passport) vs Mohammad (degree) | Self-attested affidavit confirming both names refer to the same person |
| Initials expanded differently | K. Suresh (degree) vs Krishnaswamy Suresh (passport) | Self-attested affidavit with both name forms |
| Father's name included/excluded | Priya Sharma (passport) vs Priya Sharma d/o Rajesh Sharma (degree) | Usually acceptable — but submit affidavit confirming same person |
| Married name change | Priya Gupta (new) vs Priya Sharma (degree from before marriage) | Marriage certificate + name change affidavit |
| Significant name difference | Completely different first or last name | Gazette notification for official name change |
| Hyphenated vs non-hyphenated | Nair-Menon vs Nair Menon | Self-attested affidavit is usually sufficient |
Scan Quality — Rejected Documents You Didn't Know Were Rejected
APS rejects documents where any of the following apply:
- Blurry or low resolution — minimum 300 DPI; text must be fully legible
- Cropped edges — every corner and border of the original must be visible
- Black and white instead of colour — colour copies required for all documents
- PDF compression artifacts — do not use online PDF compressors before submitting
- Digital editing detectable — never merge, resize, watermark, or add text to any document PDF
- Wrong paper size — A4 only; do not submit letter-size or oversized copies
- Rotated or skewed scans — document must appear upright, not at an angle
⚠️ Never edit a PDF before submitting to APS. Even merging two pages into one PDF, or renaming a file, can trigger rejection if APS's verification system detects the modification. Submit each document as a separate, unaltered scan from the original.
Regional Language Documents — What to Do
Students from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana sometimes have mark sheets partially or fully in regional languages. APS requires English for all documents — or notarised English translations.
| Your Document Language | APS Requirement | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Fully in English | No translation needed | Submit colour photocopy directly |
| Bilingual (English + regional language) | Usually accepted as-is | Submit as-is — both language versions present |
| Fully in regional language (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi) | Notarised English translation required | Get translation from government-approved translator + notarisation by notary public |
| Hindi | Translation recommended | Some APS officers accept Hindi; safer to get notarised translation |
💡 Who can translate: A government-approved translator or a sworn/notary-certified translator. Google Translate printouts are NOT accepted. The notarisation must be by a registered notary public — not just a Gazetted Officer signature on the translation. Cost: approximately ₹200–800 per document depending on city and translator.
IMFS branches in Dadar (Mumbai), Shivaji Nagar (Pune), and Hyderabad (Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Madhapur) can guide students on finding approved translators for regional language documents in their specific states.
University Verification — The Step Most Students Get Wrong
Institutional verification is where APS processing most commonly stalls. APS sends a verification email to your institution — and if the institution doesn't respond promptly, your application enters "Verification Pending" status and can stay there for weeks.
Who to Contact at Your Institution — By Designation
- Controller of Examinations — highest authority for mark sheet verification; most directly relevant to APS
- Registrar — second option; oversees all academic records
- Head of Department (HOD) — useful if the above are unresponsive; knows your academic record directly
- Faculty advisor or academic coordinator — last resort; escalate up if they can't help
What to Tell Them — Before You Submit to APS
- Give them the APS India verification email address: [email protected]
- Ask them to monitor their spam folder — APS verification emails frequently land in institutional spam
- Ask them to respond from an official .edu.in or .ac.in email address — not Gmail or personal domains
- Provide their official institutional phone number to APS if requested
- Tell them APS may also call directly — ask them to receive and respond to the call
Institutional Response by University Type — Reality Check
| Institution Type | Typical Response Time | IMFS Tip |
|---|---|---|
| IITs, NITs, BITS | 1–2 weeks | Academic sections are well-organised; use official academic email (not HOD personal) |
| Central Universities (DU, BHU, JNU, AMU) | 1–3 weeks | Go to Examination Branch directly; Registrar handles APS queries |
| University of Mumbai affiliates | 3–6 weeks | Contact both the college and University of Mumbai Examination Dept; Mumbai University is known to be slow |
| JNTU / Osmania / OU affiliates (Hyderabad) | 2–5 weeks | Use JNTU Examination Cell official contact; IMFS Hyderabad branches can advise on specific contacts |
| Savitribai Phule Pune University affiliates | 2–4 weeks | Contact examination section at both college and university level |
| Private deemed universities | Highly variable: 1–8 weeks | Escalate to Registrar immediately; some private universities have dedicated international verification desks |
| State board affiliated colleges (autonomous) | 2–6 weeks | Verification must go through the college, not the affiliating university; identify the correct internal contact |
Email Templates — Copy, Personalise, Send
Template 1 — Send to Registrar/HOD BEFORE submitting to APS
Template 2 — Follow-up to APS India after 6+ weeks with no update
⚠️ Always reply in the original thread. Template 2 must be sent as a reply to your original APS email exchange — not as a new email. A new email to [email protected] loses your case history and delays resolution.
Courier to APS Delhi — Protocol and What to Do If Something Goes Wrong
The APS India office address: Academic Evaluation Centre, Gate No. 3, DLTA Complex, R.K. Khanna Stadium, 1 Africa Avenue, New Delhi — 110029
- Recommended couriers: Bluedart, DTDC, Delhivery — all offer door-to-door tracked delivery to this address
- Envelope marking: Write "APS India — Academic Documents" on the outside of the envelope
- Envelope type: Unsealed is fine — APS opens and inspects all envelopes
- Track delivery: Save the tracking number and confirm APS Delhi received the envelope before expecting a portal update
| Problem | Cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Courier shows delivered but portal still shows "Application Submitted" | APS receives and logs documents over 2–4 working days; logging is manual | Wait 5 working days after delivery confirmation before contacting APS |
| Courier tracking lost / undelivered | Delivery exception or address issue | Contact courier provider immediately. Reshoot documents if lost. File an insurance claim if available. |
| No portal update 3 weeks after delivery | Document logging delay or missing application form | Send a polite follow-up to [email protected] with courier tracking confirmation |
| Can I submit in person at APS Delhi? | Some applicants travel to Delhi | Yes — walk-in submission accepted at the APS India office. Call first to confirm hours: check aps-india.de for current contact details |
Why Some Students Get APS in 6 Weeks While Others Wait 13
Based on IMFS 2025-26 Germany applicant data, the difference between fast and slow processing comes down to seven factors — almost all controllable before submission.
✅ Fast Processing (6–8 weeks)
- Every semester transcript included — zero missing pages
- Institution alerted before submission — responds to APS within 1 week
- Name matches exactly across passport and all documents
- DigiLocker CBSE documents pulled for Class 10 and 12
- Scans are clean, colour, 300+ DPI, all edges visible
- Application submitted Sept–Feb (lower APS volume period)
- CCAvenue online payment used — fastest confirmation
⚠️ Slow Processing (10–13 weeks)
- One or more semester transcripts missing — processing frozen
- Institution's email lands in spam — no response for weeks
- Minor name mismatch triggers clarification request
- Blurry or cropped scans require re-submission
- Student opens new email thread instead of replying
- Application submitted May–Aug (peak season)
- Regional language document missing translation
APS Delay Troubleshooter — Problem → Cause → Action
Find your situation in the left column. The right column tells you exactly what to do.
| Your Problem | Most Likely Cause | Exact Action |
|---|---|---|
| No portal update after 3 weeks from delivery | Document logging delay; sometimes documents are received but not yet entered into the system | Wait 5 working days. Then send a polite follow-up in your original email thread with your courier tracking confirmation. Do NOT open a new email. |
| Portal shows "Verification Pending" for more than 2 weeks | Your institution has not responded to APS verification email — either wrong email, email in spam, or faculty unavailable | Contact your registrar/HOD/Controller of Examinations immediately. Give them APS email ([email protected]). Ask to check spam. Confirm they have an official .edu.in or .ac.in email. |
| APS sent "Clarification Required" email | Missing document, name mismatch, unclear scan, or additional information needed | Read APS email carefully. Reply within 48 hours in the SAME email thread. Provide exactly what is requested. Do not add extra documents unless requested. |
| Institution says they received no email from APS | Wrong institutional email provided; email landed in spam; email domain not .edu.in/.ac.in | Confirm the exact .edu.in or .ac.in address with your institution. Email APS to update the institutional contact. Ask the institution to whitelist [email protected]. |
| APS says documents cannot be verified | Institution details incorrect; institution not recognising APS; wrong department contacted | Confirm official institutional email, phone, and address directly with your university's registrar. Provide updated contact details to APS in the original email thread. |
| APS processing has stopped — no updates for 6+ weeks | Student opened new email thread; APS waiting for something; institutional verification stalled | Send one polite follow-up in original thread. If no response in 1 week, call APS India directly (check aps-india.de for current phone). Contact IMFS Germany counsellors for escalation strategy. |
| APS certificate issued but not received | Digital PDF sent to wrong email; email in spam; email address registered incorrectly | Check your spam folder. Log into APS portal — if it shows "Certificate Issued," the email has been sent. Contact APS to resend to your correct email address. |
| APS portal login not working | Password reset issue; session timeout; portal maintenance | Use "Forgot Password" on aps-india.de. Try a different browser. Check APS social media for maintenance announcements. Email APS if login is persistently blocked. |
If Your APS Is Already Delayed — Week-by-Week Action Plan
If your APS is still processing and you're wondering when to act — here is the exact sequence used by IMFS Germany counsellors. The key is not to escalate too early (which annoys APS and adds noise) or too late (which costs you weeks).
| Week | Status to expect | Your action | SEO query this answers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1–3 after delivery | Documents Received → Verification in Progress | ✅ Wait. This is normal. Do not contact APS. Use this time to shortlist German universities, begin SOP, and start German language coaching in parallel. | APS processing time India |
| Week 4–5 | Verification in Progress (still) | Check your registered email for any APS verification email asking for clarification. If none received, confirm your institution has replied to APS. Ask registrar/HOD to check spam folder — APS university verification emails frequently land in spam. | APS verification email · APS university verification |
| Week 6 | Verification Pending or Verification in Progress | Contact your institution's Controller of Examinations or Registrar directly. Confirm they have responded to [email protected]. If not, ask them to respond immediately. APS pending verification is the most fixable delay — the action is with your institution, not with APS. | APS pending verification · APS verification pending India |
| Week 7–8 | No status change | If institution has responded but status unchanged, APS processing time after verification is typically 1–2 additional weeks. Confirm with your HOD that their response was sent from an official .edu.in or .ac.in email. If they used Gmail, the verification was likely rejected — ask them to resend from the correct domain. | APS processing time after verification |
| Week 9–10 | Still no certificate issued | Send one polite follow-up email to [email protected] — in your original email thread only, never a new email. Include: your name, application number, courier tracking, delivery date, and a brief status request. Also check the APS contact form on aps-india.de for an alternative submission channel if email has not been acknowledged. | APS not responding · APS contact form |
| Week 11+ | Extended delay | Call APS India directly — phone number at aps-india.de. If your APS DigiLocker verification was expected to speed things up but hasn't, it may indicate an institutional-level verification is still pending despite DigiLocker. Contact IMFS Germany counsellors — our team can advise on escalation strategy and assess whether your documents need any remediation. → Book free IMFS session | APS DigiLocker verification · APS delay after DigiLocker |
💡 APS certificate status — check first: Before taking any of the above actions, log in to your APS portal account (aps-india.de) and check the current status label. The portal status tells you exactly which stage your application is at — see the "APS Portal Status Guide" section above for what each status means and the specific action it requires.
Run These in Parallel — Don't Wait for APS to Do Everything Else
The biggest timeline mistake Indian Germany applicants make is thinking sequentially: "I'll get APS first, then do everything else." APS takes 8–13 weeks. That is 8–13 weeks you can use for everything else simultaneously.
| Activity | Requires APS to be done first? | Can run parallel to APS |
|---|---|---|
| German university shortlisting with IMFS | ❌ No | ✅ Start immediately |

Frequently Asked Questions — APS Delays India
Why is my APS certificate taking so long in India?
Based on IMFS 2025-26 data, average APS processing is 8–9 weeks. Common causes of delays beyond this: (1) missing transcript semester pages — the #1 cause, (2) institution verification email not responded to — email in spam, wrong domain, or faculty unavailable, (3) name mismatch between passport and degree certificates, (4) poor scan quality or edited PDFs. If it has been over 10 weeks, send a follow-up in your original email thread to [email protected] with your application number and courier tracking confirmation.
What does "Verification Pending" mean on APS portal?
"Verification Pending" means APS has sent a verification email to your institution but the institution has not yet responded. Action: contact your Registrar, HOD, or Controller of Examinations immediately. Give them APS India's email ([email protected]) and ask them to check their spam folder and respond from an official .edu.in or .ac.in email address. This is the most actionable APS status — you can directly speed up processing by ensuring your institution responds.
What causes APS delay in India?
Main causes (IMFS 2025-26 data): (1) Missing semester transcripts — even one missing semester freezes processing. (2) Institution email not responded to — wrong domain, spam filtering, or faculty unavailable. (3) Name mismatch between passport and degree. (4) Poor document scan quality — blurry, cropped, or PDF-edited. (5) Student opens new APS email thread instead of replying in original. (6) Peak season submission (May–August) when APS volumes are highest.
How do I use DigiLocker for APS India?
Create a DigiLocker account at digilocker.gov.in and link your Aadhaar. Fetch your CBSE Class 10 and 12 certificates directly — these are instantly verifiable by APS. Check if your university is on DigiLocker (many are not). Download PDFs, verify all details match your passport, and submit as A4 colour prints. Important: APS will still contact your institution for degree-level verification even with DigiLocker documents. DigiLocker speeds up school-level document preparation but does not replace institutional verification.
What does APS India NOT check?
APS does NOT check: IELTS/TOEFL/GRE/PTE scores, Statement of Purpose, Letters of Recommendation, CGPA or academic quality, work experience, German language certificate, scholarship documents, dMAT score, visa eligibility, or blocked account. APS only verifies that your academic documents are authentic. Admission decisions are made entirely by German universities. Source: aps-india.de/faq-ss
What should I do if my APS shows "Clarification Required"?
"Clarification Required" means APS has found a discrepancy and needs something from you. Check your registered email immediately. Reply within 48 hours — ALWAYS in the same email thread, never open a new email. Provide exactly what is requested. Common triggers: missing document, name mismatch, scan quality issue. If unclear what is being asked, reply politely requesting specific clarification of what document or information is needed.
How do I notify my university for APS verification?
Before submitting to APS, email your Registrar, HOD, or Controller of Examinations: (1) Give them APS India's email: [email protected], (2) Ask them to monitor their spam folder, (3) Ask them to reply from their official .edu.in or .ac.in email — not Gmail or personal email, (4) Provide your full name, roll number, degree, and year of graduation for easy identification. See the full email template in this guide's "University Verification" section.
Does my institution's Gmail address work for APS verification?
No. APS India only accepts institutional email addresses ending in .edu.in or .ac.in. Gmail, Yahoo, or personal email domains provided for your HOD or registrar will not be accepted for verification. If your institution's contact uses a personal email, escalate to the Registrar or Controller of Examinations who has an official institutional email.
Does name mismatch cause APS delay?
Yes — name mismatch between passport and academic documents is the #3 delay cause (IMFS data). Common scenarios: different spelling (Mohammed vs Mohammad), initials expanded differently, married name change, or father's name included in one document but not another. Remedies: for minor variations, a self-attested affidavit confirming both names refer to the same person. For significant mismatches, a gazette notification or marriage certificate may be needed. Identify any mismatches before submission to avoid the delay.
Can I submit poor quality scans to APS?
No. APS rejects: blurry or low-resolution scans (minimum 300 DPI), cropped edges (all borders must be visible), black and white instead of colour, PDF-compressed files, digitally edited documents, and wrong paper size (A4 only). Never compress, merge, watermark, or edit any PDF before submission — APS can detect digital alterations. If your original document has faded ink, contact IMFS for guidance before submitting.
How do I follow up with APS India?
Email [email protected] — always by replying in your original email thread, never by opening a new email. In your follow-up include: your full name, APS application number, document courier date and tracking number, and delivery confirmation. Send follow-up no earlier than 6 weeks after confirmed delivery. See the follow-up email template in this guide's "University Verification" section.
Does APS have a contact form or phone number?
Yes. APS India can be contacted via: Email: [email protected] (always reply in original thread — never open a new email). APS contact form: available on aps-india.de — use this if your email has not been acknowledged after 10+ weeks. Phone: current phone number listed on aps-india.de (phone numbers change — verify before calling). For walk-in visits, the APS Delhi office is at Gate No. 3, DLTA Complex, R.K. Khanna Stadium, 1 Africa Avenue, New Delhi 110029. Walk-in submission is accepted — call ahead to confirm current hours before travelling.
How long does APS take after verification is complete?
Once your institution has responded to the APS verification email and the portal shows "Verification in Progress" → confirmed, APS processing time after verification is typically 1–2 additional weeks for certificate issuance. If it has been more than 3 weeks since your institution confirmed response and no certificate has been issued, check whether the institutional email used was a valid .edu.in or .ac.in domain — if they replied from Gmail, the verification may not have been accepted. Send a follow-up in your original email thread to [email protected].
I submitted DigiLocker documents but APS is still delayed — why?
APS delay after DigiLocker happens because DigiLocker only speeds up school-level (Class 10 and 12) document verification for CBSE — it does not replace verification for your bachelor's degree, master's degree, or institution-level documents. APS must still contact your college or university for degree verification even when DigiLocker documents are accepted. If your APS DigiLocker verification is done but the application is still pending, it almost certainly means your institution's response to APS is the outstanding step — not the DigiLocker documents. Check your portal status and contact your registrar/HOD immediately if the status shows "Verification Pending."
How do I get APS processed faster?
Factors that produce 6-week APS processing (IMFS data): (1) Submit 100% complete documents — every semester page included, (2) Alert your institution before submitting — give them APS email and ask to monitor spam, (3) Use DigiLocker for CBSE Class 10 and 12 certificates, (4) Ensure all names match exactly, (5) Use 300+ DPI colour scans with no editing, (6) Submit September–February when APS volumes are lower, (7) Pay via CCAvenue online for fastest payment confirmation.
